We are celebrating my dog Abe’s birthday all week long.  It is the big one- he is entering double digits!  To kick off the celebration, we decided to try Bake and Break Kibble Cracker Mix given to us by our friends at Your Dog’s Diner.  Anytime I cook for the dogs, my entire pack is excited!

One excited pack!

With natural and organic ingredients like Garbanzo Bean Flour, Carrots, Coconut, Organic Red Bell Pepper, Organic Flaxseed Meal, Organic Turmeric Powder, Organic Broccoli Powder how can you really go wrong?  And, when I saw carrots and coconut included in the top three ingredients, I knew it would be a hit.  And it was.

It is simple to make.  All you need is to preheat your oven to about 425 degrees, have two cups of broth at the ready, a pan, mixing bowls and a spoon.  You don’t need the stuffed dog as you see in our picture.  That is everyone’s favorite new toy-Sniffy.  You might see him a lot in the future 🙂

Simply add the broth to the mix.  Stir and pour in a large pan that you have sprayed with non stick cooking spray.  Bake for 35 minutes.  You then let it sit in a turned off oven for four hours for crunchy kibble cracker mix.

To be honest, I forgot our pan in the oven for several hours which resulted in crunchy treats with a capital C.  My dogs loved it though and know exactly where it is stored!

This is what the end result looks like after we broke it into pieces.  A healthy treat for the special furkid in your life.  Thanks Your Dog’s Diner!
