Take Your Dog to Work Day- June 20, 2014
Taking your dog to work just might make your work life balance a bit easier, don’t you think? My dog Abe used to go to work with me all of the time and Chico did too but his barking got the best of him. Now that I am working in my store office more often and not as much on the sales floor, my furboys are back and I love it! Friday, June 20 marks Take Your Dog to Work Day 2014. Is your pet ready to pack his lunch and head to the office?
If so, he will be among thousands of other canines heading to work with their owners this year. Pet Sitters International created Take Your Dog To Work Day in 1999 with the goal of celebrating the human-canine bond and to promote pet adoption. Employers are encouraged to open their doors on this special day and welcome their employees and their four legged companions.
If your dog is not aggressive or overly shy, he deserves a day at the office! That is, if your employer opens their doors to four leggers on June 20!
To have a fun and memorable day with your pooch, here are a few puppy p’s & q’s to remember:
Your dog should:
– Make polite introductions- NO JUMPING
– Sit/Lay down
– Stay
– Settle
– Have proper leash skills- NO PULLING
Supplies to bring with you to make your dog comfortable:
– Baby gate
– Dog bed
– High Value Treats
– Water and Food bowls
– Favorite toy
