Solvit Deluxe Telescoping Pet Ramp- The Pack Mom Review and Giveaway
My life as a pet parent has just been made so much easier. The Solvit Deluxe Telescoping Pet Ramp became a part of my world last month and since then I have bid adieu to the days of lifting my 65lb lab mix, Abe, in and out of my Honda Pilot! Chico, my 18lb lightweight, doesn’t always love to be lifted in, out or anywhere for that matter, so the pet ramp has made him happier too.
I am not sure why I have never considered owning a pet ramp before. Maybe I thought they would be big, bulky and take up too much room in my already packed car and house. Or, perhaps, it was always easier to lift my guys in and out of the car at a moments notice. Whatever the case, now that I have one, I am not turning back.
My dogs, Abe and Chico, are getting older. Both turned 10 in the last two months. And, although they are active seniors, I have noticed that their hips and knees are strained. So, a pet ramp is important to make their entrance and egress from the car comfortable and easy.
- Lightweight- 13lbs
- Supports up to 400lbs
- Dimensions- 39-72” x 17” x 4”
- Has a carry handle and release hatch
- Lightweight
- Compact
- Easy slide in and slide out for easy use (in the video I use the term “fold” but there is no FOLDING necessary)
- Can be used for distances as short at 39″ and as long as 72″
- Rubber feet prevent slipping
My furboys definitely require treats to get up and down the ramp (see Abe in our video above). They are leery of the ramp’s incline and 13″ tread surface but I swear they would jump off a cliff for a good smelling treat, so this training aid works for us. Solvit does make a Deluxe XL Telescoping Pet Ramp that is wider and longer which might make it easier for Abe and Chico, although, I am pretty sure they would still insist on treats.
