Date Night vs. Snuggle with the Dogs
This weekend, my husband and I were so looking forward to date night. We had 24 hours sans toddler (thanks to my mom) and we had big plans.
Agenda: Busy day working at our store, walk dogs, pig out: yummy burger/fries/shake dinner and head to our alma mater’s football game. Our goal was to stay out late and feel young even if just for one kid-free night.
We conquered three out of four. We did work really hard at our store. Enjoyed a one hour power walk with our fur babes, looked half way decent as we headed out to dinner…and that’s about it.
As we munched on our mac n’ cheese balls, we found ourselves stretching to find a good reason to attend the game. Guilt over wasting tickets was the main one. But, as we got in the car after dinner, we looked at each other and asked, “Don’t you want to just go home and snuggle with our boys?”
And, that is exactly what we did. In bed by 7pm with both of our dogs. We were all asleep by 9pm. Sounds boring right? Not for us. It was the best date night EVER according to Abe and Chico…and we concurred.
Love Our Boys!
