The Pack Mom’s November Giveaway with KONG Premium Treats
KONG. How many of you have a KONG rolling around in your arsenal of pet toys? KONG products are owned by every generation of pet parent all over the world. This includes my mom and dad, whose 9lb Maggie May has them trained. Each night, at about the same time, Maggie drops her KONG at my mom’s feet to have it filled with peanut butter. Of course, they oblige. And yes, I am keeping a keen eye on Maggie’s weight….much to my parents’ chagrin :-).
The original KONG is iconic, But have you tried KONG premium treats with your dog or cat?
KONG asked us to review a few of their premium dog treats and if the treats met Pack Mom Approval, to host a giveaway for our fans. We are always excited to test pet products for our fellow Pack Moms so we asked our Facebook family which treats you would like to see as part of the contest.
Jerky treats, crunchy treats and dental treats were all requested. So that is just what one winner will receive. One bag of each! There are a few flavors in each line, so the winner will be able to pick their dog’s favorite.
We tested three bags of treats with our packs: KONG Crunchy Flavor Bars – Lamb, KONG Dental Chews – Mint and KONG Natural Jerky – Beef.
Here were the results:
Chewy Treats (Jerky)– were widely accepted. Just about 100% of the dogs we tested them on loved them and drooled for more. Moist, easy to tear, smelled good and were great for training or coaxing the dogs into the tub :-).
Crunchy Treats– were very easy to break, which we liked. They crumbled nicely and many dogs enjoyed licking up every last morsel. Some dogs turned their nose away which is expected with crunchy treats. But, the majority loved them.
Dental Chews– were softer and more pliable then others out there on the market. I felt safe product testing them and digestibility wasn’t a concern. We tested the Medium/Large size so the dogs were on the bigger side and didn’t seem very picky. The treats did seem to leave the dogs’ breath smelling fresher too.
Overall- we approved these treats because they are: a. Made in the USA; b. Corn, Wheat and Soy free; c. Natural and made with high quality ingredients and d. are relatively low in fat.
