Louisiana Alligator Treats for Dogs

alligator treats for dogs

Alligators.  I held one this summer, have eaten fried gator bites as an appetizer in the past and now, this unlikely reptile can be found in dog treats too.  Yes, alligator treats for dogs.

I first discovered these treats at a pet industry trade show a couple of months ago and as you can imagine, they were all the buzz.  They are made by the Delca Corporation who also makes a line of Louisiana crab treats and Louisiana crawfish treats as well.  Louisiana Alligator treats for dogs come in crunchy biscuits and moist jerky treats as well.

So, why gator for dogs?  Well, it is a novel protein.  Most likely your dog has never eaten gator meat therefore food allergies are not a problem.  Alligator meat is considered to be a lean meat and is considered high in essential vitamins and minerals.  So, why not?  Besides, it tastes like chicken 🙂

Happy treating!
