Pack Mom Daily Bite: Socks for Dogs Who Have Trouble on Slippery Floors

July 9, 2013 | By More

I have to face the fact that my two boys are aging- gracefully making their way into senior-hood.  I adore Abe’s graying muzzle.  I love his old man hippity hop that he displays after one too many rounds of playing ball.  I love Chico’s ever bulging eyeballs that seem to bulge more the older he gets.

Recently I tried using socks with Abe for an eHow.com video.  The topic was “Socks for Dogs Who Have Trouble on Slippery Floors.”  Yep, that is Abe.

Although he looked like he was prancing or doing some sort of weird military march when we first put the socks on, he quickly got used to them.  As a matter of fact, both of us forgot that he was wearing them.  He wore them for hours!  And the best part is, the socks helped him get up and down on our slick hardwood floors!

My sock recommendations:

1.  Go for socks with a good grip on the bottom rather than bulky shoes.

2.  The more grip on the bottom the better.

3.  Make sure the sock fits snugly around the top to prevent it from falling off.

That’s it!  It is worth a try if you have a dog that is slipping and sliding around your house!

Let me know how it goes.
